What We Collect
• Anonymous usage data (pages visited, search queries, clicks) via Google Analytics 4 • Retailer click events (which merchant you clicked, the product, and the price shown) stored in our database • For the AI Shopping Agent and MCP price tool: an anonymized per-day usage count keyed to a one-way, truncated hash of your IP address (used only for rate-limiting) • No account registration, no passwords, no payment-card data, and no other personally identifiable information
HomeGadgets AI — powered by Shopbutler.ai
HomeGadgets AI (our on-site "Shopping Agent" at /ai, and the same engine exposed as our MCP price tool) answers shopping questions over the HomeGadgets catalogue. When you ask a question, the text you type — and, if you supply a postal code for delivery filtering, the province derived from it — is sent to Anthropic (Claude) to generate the answer. We do NOT store the text of your questions; we keep only an anonymized per-day usage count tied to a truncated, irreversible hash of your IP (never the full IP) so we can enforce free-use limits. Anthropic processes your question to produce a response and does not use it to train its models on a no-retention/zero-data-retention basis. The agent answers strictly from publicly sourced catalogue data — it cannot see any account, payment, or identity information, because we hold none.
How We Use It
• To improve the site and understand which products and categories are most useful • To measure traffic sent to retailers (aggregated, never individual) • To rate-limit and budget the AI Shopping Agent so it stays free to use • We do not sell your data to third parties

Contact Form
When you use our contact form, we collect your name and email address solely to respond to your inquiry. This information is not used for marketing, not shared with third parties, and retained only as long as necessary to address your request.
Your Rights
Under Canada's PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25, you have the right to request access to or deletion of any personal data we hold. We collect only anonymous analytics and a truncated, irreversible IP hash used for rate-limiting, so there is no personally identifiable information associated with your visits or your AI questions.
