Where Our Data Comes From
• Prices and availability are collected from publicly accessible Canadian retailer pages and refreshed on a schedule — they may lag real-time and can be out of date or out of stock. • Specifications are sourced from public manufacturer (OEM) and retailer pages. • Energy figures are attributed to their government / standards source where shown. • Ratings are aggregated from public third-party sources and shown per source — we do not generate, edit, or verify reviews. • We do not fabricate prices, specs, ratings, or any other numbers. If we don’t have a reliable value, we omit it rather than guess.
AI Shopping Agent — what it can and cannot do
HomeGadgets AI, powered by Shopbutler.ai, answers questions over our catalogue using a third-party large language model (Anthropic’s Claude). It can be helpful for narrowing choices and comparing what we have data on, but: • It can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong, and may occasionally misread the data. Treat answers as a starting point, not a final word. • It only covers products in the HomeGadgets catalogue and Canadian retailers. It does not handle used/open-box gear, non-Canadian listings, groceries, orders, payments, or accounts. • It is informational only — not professional, financial, or purchasing advice. • Always confirm the current price, availability, specifications, and delivery terms on the retailer’s own website before buying. • It is free to use within fair-use limits and may be temporarily unavailable.
